Moderator Popular Post Li**** Posted May 23, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted May 23, 2019 I've been curious about seeing a therapist as so many of my friends do and say it's absolutely life-changing. So I've heard that there are lots of therapists that offer their services via Skype etc., has anyone had any experience with that? Or any other advice on how to find a good therapist online (or offline!) and generally things to take into consideration. I feel like everyone could benefit from seeing a therapist, but also a bit lost as to where I start. Any tips or experiences would be appreciated!
Moderator Popular Post Tine Posted September 9, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted September 9, 2019 In my experience, there's little difference between online and offline when you have found a good therapist or coach. It's the same with meditations groups. If the group is good, you get a similar feeling of connectedness as you would in an in person-environment. It also depends on you, if you take things seriously, you are on time, prepared and all I think it's pretty similar. Also, therapists online charge almost the same or the same as consultations in person so even if it's easier to chancel a session online, you'll still have to pay. This helps with accountability. ? In my opinion video chat is much better because then you really focus on the conversation as the other person can see if you are distracted and it's much easier to build a relationship.
