  1. We are cutting down on food that is packed in plastic. Is there an unpacked alternative? Or at least one with less packaging? Packaging that is easier recyclable? I gave up on my favourite cookies as there's more plastic packaging than actual cookies. These decisions will also encourage corporations to produce more of what we buy. We are also quite determined to repair everything, and if it can't be repaired, we buy it second hand. Here in Europe, I want to acknowledge that it is both a financial and time privilege even to make these choices and cook with fresh, local, organic ingredients from scratch. My privileged lifestyle choice is imitating how people with very little income have to make ends meet.
  2. Well, of course am speaking about 80% of the human beings that their salaries can't reach the end of the month ... Money is the base money is how you can breath , is not the source of happiness in itself but it will give you the dignity to not ask other for charity. Let's be honest and practical: once you put food on the table you can begin your pursuit of happiness unless you will be traking how to survive like animals and animals doesn't know that happiness exists...
  3. There are no bans or restrictions in place for travel into Tanzania. Commercial flights to and from the East African nation are in operation. With international travel back in motion, many tour operators (including us at Twende Africa Tours) are once again in the swing of things and running Kilimanjaro climbs. Our mountain crew is fit and raring to go, and have already led quite a few groups of climbers to the roof of Africa since August 2020. * We regularly update the information in this blog post to reflect the latest coronavirus-related news and developments pertaining to travel to Tanzania. Robert, James, Roger and Andrew at the summit of Kilimanjaro this October! The coronavirus in Tanzania Tanzania, like many countries, closed its borders to tourists in early 2020 in a bid to slow the spread of Covid-19. For a while, there were no climbers on Mt Kilimanjaro. This hit mountain crews hard, as they had no work during this time. Midway through 2020 Tanzania’s President John Magufuli lifted the travel ban, and the country has remained opened to foreign visitors since. A quiet Kilimanjaro climb … Climbers have been trickling back into northern Tanzania to attempt to summit Mt Kilimanjaro ever since Tanzania reopened her borders. That said, the slopes of Kilimanjaro are still relatively quiet. For those eager for an uncrowded Kilimanjaro climb, the conditions right now are uniquely favorable. Even the usually busy routes up the mountain, like the Lemosho and Machame, are relatively empty. Take a look at this short, inspiring video showing the unusually quiet climb experienced by our friend Nick while climbing Kilimanjaro in July 2020. Get your Local Kilimanjaro guide! All you need to know for a successful Kilimanjaro climb. Tanzania and Covid-19 test requirements Tanzania doesn’t require you to take a coronavirus test prior to flying into the country. That said, please be sure to check for any requirements in place from your home country, any transit country, as well as the airline (or airlines) you’re flying with. Coronavirus testing near Kilimanjaro If you require a Covid-19 test while in Tanzania, no problem. You can have a test done for about $100 at Selian Hospital in Arusha or Mawenzi Regional Hospital in Moshi (the two towns closest to Kilimanjaro and Northern Safaris). The current turnaround time for tests results is 72 hours. We can organize testing for you! We’re happy to arrange this test for you. We’ll also drive you there, of course, and organize to receive your results. Please note, however, that the onus is on you to request a coronavirus test if one is needed. This means checking with your airline and home country to see if a test result is required prior to travel (as well as the timeframes involved). Both Arusha and Moshi have hospitals where you can get a coronavirus test if you decide you need one Safety precautions when travelling to Tanzania during the pandemic The Government of Tanzania has put certain safety measures in place to help prevent the spread of coronavirus through the tourism sector: All travellers are advised to wear a face mask that covers their mouth and nose (though this isn’t mandatory). Everyone is advised to sanitize their hands regularly – and properly! You are given a Health Surveillance Form to fill in on the airplane. Upon arrival in Tanzania, all travellers will have their temperature taken in the airport – those with symptoms of the virus will be taken to a government-sanctioned hotel for a 14-day quarantine (at your own expense). Kilimanjaro climbers can also anticipate temperature checks at their local hotel and at the gates to Kilimanjaro National Park. If you’d like to know more, please read the Government of Tanzania’s Standard Operating Procedures for the management of Covid-19. Face masks and hand sanitizer Please bring your own protective face masks for your time in Tanzania. You won’t wear them on the mountain, as there’s already limited oxygen. But it’s a good idea to wear a face mask during your travels before and after the climb. Face masks aren’t compulsory in Tanzania, but we do advise wearing them, in keeping with the recommendation set forth by the World Health Organization. While hand sanitizer is provided at most establishments and we provide it for you during our climbs, we still recommend having your own personal hand sanitizer that you carry with you at all times. How Twende Africa Tours is protecting staff and climbers from the virus Safety has always been a top priority with Twende Africa Tours. Accordingly, all of our Tanzania lead staff have undergone specialized Covid-19 prevention training. And we follow all of the new standard operating procedures set out by the Tanzanian authorities in terms of Covid-19 prevention. These measures include: Temperature checks Mask wearing (not on the mountain, as breathing is already too difficult at high altitude) Social distancing (especially on the mountain, when face masks can’t be worn) Regular hand sanitization Twende Africa Tours climbers can be confident that we take all necessary precautions to protect the health of our staff and clients. Our cooks wear protective face masks when preparing your food. And we implement social distancing wherever possible – an easy thing to do when actually trekking! “I climbed Kilimanjaro in October 2020 during the pandemic difficult times and it was a great break after being locked down for weeks in my home country (France). Tanzania is luckily a very safe place in this regard.” Steve, For further client feedback, please take a look at our Trustpilot score and reviews. Tanzania’s coronavirus statistics As of June 2020, the Government of Tanzania stopped publishing official data on the number of coronavirus cases in the country. This means we do not have any coronavirus stats for Tanzania at this time. Twende Africa Tours’s amended booking policy This year has been a real doozy! If you do opt to share a room, your roommate won’t change for the entire journey to support social distancing efforts. As always, please feel free to contact us at any time! We’d love to connect with you and talk adventure travel.
  4. How to enjoy worry Never allow the worry to enter your heart in difficult times. When it knocks the door, shout at it to go away. Don’t open the doors of the mind. If you allow it, it is a thief which steals away your energy. It is like the dog that steals away your food. It is like the cat that steals away your milk. Food is your energy and milk is your courage. When you loose courage and energy tension is created, which is the source of all chronic diseases. Doctors say that the tension raises the level of lactic acid in the blood, which opens all the doors for all the chronic diseases. The physical health is spoiled because the mind and body are related to each other. The illness in the body affects the mind. The tension in the mind affects the body. Such tension results in the loss of memory and loss of intelligence. In such state you are completely inefficient to plan for the solution. Your body is incapable of executing any plan. The worry cannot solve the problem and moreover it weakens you so that you will become permanently incapable to solve the problem. Therefore neither should you run away from the life nor should allow the worry to enter your mind. If your realization about the unreality of the cinema, which is this life, continues, instead of worry, you can enjoy the problem in your life, which is as good as a tragic scene in the cinema. You may argue that you are involved in the life and not standing outside the life to be a spectator. This argument is not correct. The answer for your argument is that you can enjoy the tragic scene even if you are involved in it just like an actor acting in a drama. If you are aware that the drama is unreal and if you are aware that you are only acting the role which is also unreal, you can still enjoy the drama as a spectator of the cinema even though you are involved in it. Whenever you face difficulties and if you have not realized the unreality of the world (forms and feelings), there are two ways to solve your problem. One way is in natural level and the other way is in super natural level. The nature is the separated power from the Lord, which follows the rules of the logic and is called as Prakruti. The nature is separated because it becomes the separate object to be observed by God who is the spectator. God created this universe to see it for His entertainment. Even if He enters the world as human incarnation the spectatorship and entertainment continues because there is no difference between cinema and drama as far as its unreality is considered. Therefore if your problem is at the level of the nature, try to solve it using your courage and energy without allowing the worry into your mind which steals both these. If your problem is beyond the level of the nature, then also you cannot solve it by allowing the worry. In such case the super power (Maya) has to enter into this world sent by God. The Maya is never separated from God unlike the Prakruti. Now, only the super power of the God can solve your problem and for this you must concentrate on God. For such concentration also, you need the energy and therefore you should not allow the worry to enter your mind even in this case. For doing concentration on God, you require the congenial atmosphere of real devotees around you. Therefore whenever the problem that requires the super power to interfere enters your life, you have to immediately prevent the entry of the worry into your mind and you have to enter into the association of real devotees so that you can concentrate on God for help. If you remain in the association of the ordinary human beings, they will magnify the impossibility of the solution and force the worry to enter your mind. If you leave the association of these dirty people, who do not want to solve your problem and if you enter into the association of real devotees, you can easily concentrate on God for help. God will give an immediate stay because the problem cannot be cancelled forever due to the cycle of deeds presided by justice. However, the temporary stay has the possibility of permanent solution also. After the stay, there may be a chance for you to become a liberated soul by entering into the service of the God in which case your file may be condemned permanently. If you are ungrateful to the help which involves the super power of God, your file will be opened after some time and the punishment can be given to you in some other form so that your impression about the cancelling of that problem by God is not disturbed. Therefore, at every step of your life, become grateful to God and transform yourself as a liberated soul through service to Him which alone can give the permanent solution. You may be compensated regarding your loss in course of time. Thus you may recover the loss but the time you spent in worry can never be compensated. Since your lifetime is a fixed quantum, the loss of time cannot be compensated. If you entertain yourself with enjoyment even during the time of loss, the time is not lost. When the loss is compensated you have gained both the time and the lost thing. www.universal-spirituality[.]org Universal Spirituality for World Peace
  5. What is healthy? I'd say any food that nourishes your body without increasing risk of ill-health. Junk food, high carbs / sugar etc. tends to cause sluggishness and can affect mood. Vegetables, salads, fish, chicken, some red meat, all good for the mood and the heart, and other organs.
  6. Hi, it's great to have you! ? For me, Id' say it's food and sweet treats, my dog(!), and fresh flowers ?
  7. Hi :) Haha I had to chuckle a little when I read 'dogs' ?Things that make me feel happy warm and fuzzy are food, hugs, cuddling, and online shopping ??
  8. There are many different ways to start your day, and it depends on what works for you and in your life. A lot of people like to start their morning with a little meditation, a few sun salutations, or perhaps some journaling. ? Some like to start their day with a walk outside or some kind of exercise to get their body moving and the blood flowing. ? When it comes to diet it is also really individual, and what works for one person does not necessarily work for someone else. In general I'd say, eat clean, wholesome foods, lots of fruit and vegetables, and a healthy balance of protein/carbs/fats so your body gets all it needs. I personally also believe in not restricting yourself, just trying to think of balance and moderation. You want to fuel your body with nutritious and tasty food, but you also want to enjoy life and have an ice cream or a piece of cake when you feel like it ?
  9. I am really grateful for many things in my life: like my health, my family, my job, the food, the air, my upbringing, people around me... But lately, I noticed that I'm grateful only for selective things and I'm a bit confused and sad about it. It happened that there is a person who did something for me what was really nice but that I didn't ask for it and I also need to admit that I didn't really want. However, the fact that the person dedicated a lot of time and effort into this I could at least appreciate. But somehow it felt wrong for me. Like lying. So, I preferred not say anything. However, the person noticed it and got disappointed. It's like someone gave you a gift that you don't really like but at least you can pretend that you would like it. Or the fact that someone is giving something to you. I was wondering if this was my ego who overruled my actions and I could not figure out how to change it. So, I decided to be really open about it and tell it to the person like I feel. That I'm ashamed that I can't be grateful for this. However, this was completely the wrong thing I realized as I put myself in a victim role and it didn't improve it for the other person. So, I'm just confused and I'm looking for answers how I can stop my behavior and be more grateful. In the past, I did a lot of gratitude practices like journaling, lotus of gratitude but somehow I stopped it because I had other priorities. I feel I need to restart them again. But I'm not really sure if this would resolve the situation. Did anybody else experienced something similar? If yes, can you share some advice?
  10. I know that some people might not agree: But one of my gifts are knowing when someone is trying to manipulate us. And I have never trusted the Government(except trump), I have done extensive digging into the subject and my thoughts are that there is something not quite right. Even if there is a virus out there. It’s not as bad as you think. If they actually advertise how many people die of just a reg flu, the number would be higher. This is the only time, with all of history’s of plegues and epidemics that we are isolating the healthy. These people have an agenda. They want to separate us from one another so we don’t discover the true that we are stronger together then apart. The media is ruled by the few that seek to keep us from knowing who we truly are. And how powerful we are when we realize that there is no different between you and I. We need to show them that we aren’t scared by there lies. We need to stand up and show them by gathering together with out our masks in front of our leaders. And say we have had enough. And we as the majority (we the people) should be telling what we want our world to be. We want a world that’s chemical free, free fresh food grown locally with out chemicals, free education. Which would allow us to the choice to be who ever we want to be. When people are given a choice without limitations, they will be a more happy and productive person in society. Money decided equally across the globe. Or better still no money needed. There would be no reason to steal or be jealous or be insecure. When everyone gets the same opportunities how much more advanced we would be. We have been lied to since the beginning. And it’s time for people to wake up to the horrible truth that we are being controlled. And we can have this life i described, if we unit as one all over the world. And eliminate the evil that seeks to destroy us. Copy and paste this into you search Engine. You can help by joining the movement and help people realize there is more to life then we could ever imagine. https://youtu.be/lEV5AFFcZ-s Also stop watching media on tv. They are only telling you what they want to to believe is true; Epoch times app is available with real news. You also could watch the “fall of the cabal” . https://youtu.be/PIJxuHibz_I Sending energy, light and love to protect you all Be good to one another and remember fear is more contagious then a virus. Don’t let them stop you from living your life to the fullest. Staying connected to one another is the best weapon of all. sorry for the long rant, I woke up and I was Mad . No one hurts my family, ( my fellow earth people. )
  11. I'm a registered dietitian nutritionist and wanted to add to the mindful eating resources shared in Week 1. Intuitive eating is a concept that is gaining more popularity in the dietetics field, and it's an eating framework that I follow myself. It is different than mindful eating in that mindful eating is a part of intuitive eating. In other words, intuitive eating encompasses mindful eating and then expands into other principles. I like to describe intuitive eating as a self-care framework for eating that rejects the diet mentality and honors your hunger and emotions with gentle nutrition, discovering satisfaction with food, and joyful movement. The most recent edition of the original intuitive eating book is out, and there are also workbooks for adults and teens. Here's a link for more information: https://www.intuitiveeating.org/
  12. @Danica2020 Thank you for adding that. I haven't looked deeper into it yet, but it already resonates. One of the most hands-on (or hands-off for that matter) learnings through MBSR for me was related to eating. Listening to my own needs and not mistaking the need for a break for hunger as I used to, not mistaking thirst for hunger. Not mistaking the need for self-care for hunger, not trying to ease stress through eating. As the amount of food I consumed did shrink, I also got more conscious about what, when and how much I eat to be fully satisfied. I'll take a closer look into intuitive eating. :-)
  13. This is so useful, thank you for sharing! I always check the ingredients on food stuff in the grocery store because I try to stay away from processed foods for the most part. I like to eat fresh and clean and once you learn a bit about how to bake/cook/make different things and dishes, you will also start to question why the ingredient list on the store bought item contain certain things, or why it is so long to begin with ? I have always found many vegan recipes or dishes friends have told me about contain a lot of processed foods, or vegan 'replicas' of meat products that have a massive list of items that make no sense to me. Looking forward to seeing some new yummy vegan recipes to try! ?
  14. Why does everyone rush to the supermarkets during the pandemic? Why do people buy SO MUCH FOOD? (and not healthy at all) As if world ends and their stomach needs to be full! Immune system does NOT function well when eating much. I believe some veggies or smoothies would be enough ?! Let's GO BEYOND GREED and focus on Change & Support eachother! Many people REALLY need support and others keep their money & goods for themselves. The virus carries the message of AWAKENING and togetherness - even if we are different. There will be other viruses. Until we understand the message & change. To Goodness Generosity Helping eachother Let's accept life & love it!
  15. I've asked myself the same question when the pandemic first started and people were panic-buying toilet paper ? I think the impulse came from an irrational fear that something like the zombie apocalypse would happen and we wouldn't be able to leave our houses for months on end. It's a known fact that most of the world's culture is based largely on consumerism. We buy things we don't need, eat when we're not hungry, and desire things we don't need to fill a hole, an emptiness. That constant feeling of hunger - for food, money or power. A false belief that leads us to blindly consume more and more and more... Yet what we really all crave is CONNECTION. With ourselves, with the earth, nature, and our partners, family and friends. Life indeed is about experiences and the expression of love in all forms. Thank you for sharing ✨
  16. Gardening, to me, is relaxing and meaningful at the same time. Ultimately I went to live in the countryside to garden more. Still, even living in the city a terrace or balcony was the essential part of the living arrangement so I could grow at least some veggies and kitchen herbs. In the current situation, to me, a garden is the biggest luxury imaginable. I spend as many hours as possible outside each day tending the plants and seedlings, weeding here, cleaning there. The work never ends, but it's the kind of work I look forward to. Fun fact about weeding: As most weeds are edible, the tasks of weeding often doubles as harvesting. (garlic mustard makes an excellent pesto) Having a closer connection and understanding of the effort and time, it takes to grow food boosts my appreciation and understanding of being part of nature and how connected, interdependent everything is. For example, I sprouted several Avocado seeds about 5 years ago. In about 15 years, I might get the first fruit if I am lucky. So yes! Gardening makes me humble, appreciative, feeling connected and super happy.
  17. Thanks for bringing this up! It's a shame Earth Day this year ended up in the shadow of the pandemic, feels like we needed to celebrate it this year more than ever ? Even though some of us are not able to go out and enjoy mother nature, I agree it's a great opportunity to reflect and maybe take a first step towards changing our behaviour in some ways. Even if it's something like recycling, reducing single use plastic, or asking restaurants to provide non plastic containers for take out food - everything counts and everything matters! ✨
  18. Hello Tine, Yes I agree that the language these doctors and scientist use can be a little too bold. But I personally feel it is aimed to wake up an interest in those that still do not understand the importance of holistic aspects of health. This language is used all the time in pharma industry - take this pill and your allergy, your headache, ... disappears.. (this might not be as prominent in Europe as advertising of pharmaceutical medicine is illegal, but I have seen in on the TV in the USA. As per your note on smoking and how it doesn't mean the smoker will get cancer and the non smoker won't, this is absolutely true! I have seen many old smokers that are in great health and not on any medication and I truly believe it is their life long positive attitude. We also see many people that are struggling with cancer and serious diseases, but they lived healthy lifestyles. This is because while they ate well and exercise, they lived in emotionally weakened state of either chronic stress or suppressed emotions from a trauma. The body is much more dynamic and there is usually not only one cause to a disease. The body has trillion cells that are in constant communication with each other, just like our systems are in constant communication with one another, .... If there is an imbalance in one part, that will affects other functions and all must be addressed together. In my work I always see there is a "story" the body has to tell, that often combines various aspects that are causing this particular health issue. Example of a client with chronic migraines (one possible story) - the pain is being triggered as a result of an emotional imbalance in liver connected to a specific event or life time experience, which is then blocking the communication between the liver and the gallbladder and hence the metabolic pathways for toxins and hormone elimination. So the reason is metabolic imbalance in the systems, which has been triggered by emotional stress. We are constantly exposed to stress, whether it is physical (sedentary life style, micro-trauma from repetitive movements, or an injury), metabolic (food, water, air, medicine, alcohol, ..), or emotional and mental stress and while more scientific research is proving that emotional and mental stress is the biggest culprit to modern diseases, all of these factors must be taken in consideration. <3
  19. Local businesses that have newsletters are starting to send statements to their clientele with regard to their coronavirus plans. Public events which have food are being cancelled because of fears of spreading virus.
  20. Gross Domestic Happiness - where did it come from I was reading some of the forum posts under the Happiness topic and thought what can I contribute to members and I was reminded of an encounter I had in 2009 at the Travellers Club in London. I had been recruited by a large Global Advertising Agency that was in financial rankings one of the Top 5 in the world. It had grown largely out of pan-European acquisitions. Unlike it's competitors at the top it's characteristics were less defined. Nothing especially unique about what the business stood for had emerged as a point of difference within the group other than being broadly very good and successful in and of itself and on behalf of its clients. After some big shake ups at board level, such as its long standing French CEO being axed in a shareholder coup, that had planned and plucked a young British Executive Director who had recently won the single most lucrative full service accounts from the biggest consumer goods corporations in the world would now be tasked and steered to change the reputation of the company. He had the blessings of the majority shareholder who had seized control at the board known for his aggressive raider approach. They had the power but they also faced an uphill march. The trouble with a young former Executive Director is that outside of his stellar performance in New Business, journalists and PR decision makers had never heard of him, he had no track record for leading a Global Company. When you Googled his name the first search results yielded a retailers in Australia, former professional Rugby Players, Textiles companies and a myriad of Welsh males who may or may not be connected to our boss. Where I am in England the name John Smith was for years assumed to be the most ubiquitous name you could have been given at birth, our man was about the second most common name you could have so we had work to do on the substance. What you could attribute to him after 6 months in the post was the entire output of the London and NY PR agencies the group held and this soon stretched to Asia and Australia but it took 3 years to build the new bosses public profile to the point where it had enough traction and people began calling us for his interviews and a world became receptive to hearing his philosophy of the challenges facing his sector and his group of companies opportunities in the present marketplace as it was then. His youth did become his advantage. This is where he did have a significant edge. Social media like Facebook was by todays standards still in its early days. it had not floated as a public company, it did not have its weight and revenues that it sees today and frankly most people were still figuring out its purpose other than being an address book of friends you could share videos and comments with in real time. Brands were not advertising on them as they do today and it was not even a marketplace where its users could trade goods or sell tickets to events. We are going back a bit. The world was in a real mess, the Global Financial Crisis was only one year behind us. World leaders would soon see the Arab Spring, everything it seems that was once a stable pillar of human Civilisation had deep fissure cracks about their foundations from Politics and its practices with the Estate of media, to the Role and activities of Global Business, to the food system, health, religion, education, human rights. We had many concerned faces and many important questions, what the world lacked it appeared to many, at the time was sufficiently skilled leaders to navigate the world into a sustainable future, a world that felt more secure about its prospects than less. Corporations with activities that harmed their reputations from environmental pollutions, human rights abuses, low pay, underage work forces, were increasingly getting caught in exposing situations where they would be advertising it's green credentials on TV's and billboards, and yet when an oil pipeline ruptured in the Gulf of Mexico and it tried to set up a twitter account to act as a means of broadcasting news updates, by which I mean very heavily censored news updates. Another twitter user called Leroy Stick set up a dopple-ganger handle that matched the look and tone of the official PR mouth piece and each tweet he put out lampooning as the PR team behind the big oil company was hilarious satire that exposed what most considered true of the companies actual ethical standards and the actual PR handle fighting a losing battle of trying to prove his satire false. No if you were the boss of a major corporation the phrase 'you are not in Kansas anymore' would seem true. The idea was to look at the worlds big conferences where we all look for driving strategies to emerge from and analyse the gap between the internal reality that they actually achieved and the external perception of their policies and efforts in communities and countries. It was pretty clear much like the slow progress on human rights, anti-corruption, escalated armed conflicts etc etc that when it came to the world leaders being effective on behalf of the world, by and large the worlds citizens had begun to doubt in the capabilities. What do you do, how can you help bring about positive changes faster, how do we open up the major challenges facing the world today and encourage universal action to mitigate the threats people face and support examples of progress is being made that resolves human activity that is causing harm. The concept was to flip the model of the G7, G8, World Economic Forum. And ask if the worlds elites can't leverage their influence and financial might positive change what if we brought together the best and most inspiring young leaders who are just emerging in enterprises contributing and enhancing life in their communities, disrupting old business models that cuts out the waste, have social policies that pledge to act and stand for activities that nurtures progress and purpose and ask them what decisions need to be taken today to address the challenges they will undoubtedly face 15-20 years down the line. The concept would fly that we were certain of but it too had no track record and of course it was a brainchild on paper only those in the office tasked with getting it off the ground were the only ones who actually knew about it. My job was to bring in and reach out to the thousands of applicants that we hoped would want to attend. That is not too difficult I hear you say. We aimed from the very start to have a representing delegate aged approx 25 who stood out for their achievements from every single country in the world. The first thing I bought for my desk was a Debrett's guide to Social etiquette and built a database of all of the foreign embassies in London. The benefit of having been an Imperial Empire London houses an Embassy for literally every country pretty much that is recognised by the United Nations. From summer of 2009 and spring 2010 I almost visited them all. I shared tea and tears with the Ambassador of Afghanistan who was personally desperately concerned as he and his wife's children were all daughters and he was acutely aware how the education of women was essential to liberating their lives but also boosting the social and economic prospects of his nation. I visited a very ordinary residence on a regular suburban ring road and sat with the Ambassador for North Korea, never for a moment imagining before meeting him that he regarded the inevitable outcome for Korea would be reunification, as he told me this I looked about the drawing room we were in,supposing cameras and microphones would be relaying our talk back to PyongYang. The gentleman I met over tea and crumpets with at the Travellers club building on Pall Mall in London was the Honoury Consul for the Kingdom of Bhutan, a British Man who lived way outside of London so we agreed to meet here which is where he met many of the people here with various national interests with the Kingdom of Bhutan. During our conversation I asked him to tell me about Bhutan's Gross Domestic Happiness, by know it had appeared across the business and social interest media and other countries had since published their Happiness audit results and a pipelines of new ones underway. I was curious and wanted to know how they went about assessing it, why and what happens when they see the figures what is the strategy to improve the levels of Gross Domestic Happiness. The Honorary Consul leaned towards me from large dark Chesterfield armchair embracing him towards mine glanced left then right to see if anyone was eves-dropping and said to me in a quiet voice "Now here's the thing about Gross Domestic Happiness". Bhutan is not by global standards a very wealthy country, it is largely agricultural and very mountainous so it has geographical constraints. But it has a rising economic power as its neighbour in India . India has increasing needs to generate electric power and Bhutan secured substantial investments in return for Indian infrastructure an it's power companies to be granted high altitude water deposits and rivers to be dammed and enormous hydro-electric dams built to serve India's surging demand for electricity. This kind of infrastructure takes a long time to build and there were setbacks and delays due to difficulties with bureaucracy on both sides, logistical blunders and one thing or another and the investment support on India's side was becoming increasingly impatient and hostile towards Bhutanese representatives at AGM's and the like where arguments became quite common and on both side tensions were being expressed. At one important news briefing the King of Bhutan was in attendance and naturally he gave an address to the cameras and reporters following developments. A journalist from the Economic Times of India raise his arm as soon as the King had finished speaking. He asked the King of Bhutan how the countries finance ministers were aligning its fiscal policies so that Bhutan would not is a year or two's time begin defaulting on the loans and repayments it had agreed in advance with Indian investors. In short his question was "How are you going to boost GDP your Royal Highness" to which the King looked at the journalist who asked him to respond. Looked down at his notes and stepped out in front of his podium and replied "Young man, I have no interest in Gross Domestic Production, I am interested in Bhutan's Gross Domestic Happiness" and soon after the briefing wrapped up. Perplexed the audience discussed among themselves curious as to what the King had meant. Gross Domestic Happiness. Such a thing had never been heard of before. When the King rejoined his national delegation there were some anxious looking advisors keen to speak with him. "What did you go and say a thing like that for, now the whole room of journalists have requested that Bhutan releases to them the Gross Domestic Happiness report, and the trouble is Your Highness we have never conducted one" The king said to his advisors "Well you had better get on a find out how Happy the Kingdom actually is seeing as you have promised the people in that room that you would supply one." And today out of a Kings quick thinking is the report and its findings https://ophi.org.uk/policy/national-policy/gross-national-happiness-index/
  21. Hi my name is Rick Anthony Sanders and I am an infj. I care about about how we can unite as one to save our planet and change the minds of everyone in the world. i know for a fact that we can do this. So far I have come up with using frequencies. Using frequencies in our oceans drinking water and food. Frequency 528 is a frequency that I use to infuse my water every day with. i also use frequency 285 to heal my body and frequency 852 to activate my pineal gland. i believe that by putting frequency 528 into our oceans in combination with Orgonite pyramids we can heal the damage that we have done. Does anyone else have any ideas on how we can save our planet in Heal it
  22. Not 100 percent vegan, but almost there, no meat for quite some time, and coming from a bodybuilding competitor background I'm paying close attention from observing changes in my body machanics to nutrient and vitamin shortfalls. My energy level has never been better, skin hair etc are just loving the antioxidant surge! So I'm more than happy to walk by the meat section and spend time under the rainbow of whole natural and plant based food. ??.
  23. I would say all processed foods i.e. things that come packaged from supermarkets. I don’t consider these foods, but products marketed by big companies as food. It’s making people sick. I have a general rule not to buy anything that has more than 5 ingredients or ingredients you can’t pronounce. Fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, legumes, seeds and whole grains such as quinoa, brown rice, and pure oats should constitute at least 80% of your diet and you should be good to go. Also trying to be active at least 3 times a week could contribute to weight loss. I would also start taking care of my liver and making sure it’s eliminating toxins properly. If your liver is bogged up, it will be very hard to lose weight. You can cleanse your liver by drinking lemon water upon waking up each morning, and not eating fats in your meals until later in the day. Nettle and dandelion tea are also great liver tonics. I must add that these are all the things that I find works for ME. I know everyone is different, but there’s a lot of research on this topic if you want to take a deeper look
  24. When I'm learning something new. When I break through an old barrier. When I meet broad minded thinkers. When I interact with other cultures. When I walk in nature and pet animals. When I interact with interesting people. When I eat great food. When I laugh with people. When I have a positive impact on others.
