  1. Hey guys, My name is Alex. I am excited to be apart of this forum and I want to take more time for mediation in my life. I have several stressors in my life come and go but haven't always delt with them in the best way. I am a kinda new to meditation, I know of a few things that I have used that helps with relaxation and allows me to think deeper about life, what it means and what is important. I am open to what others thoughts and advice.

  3. I did send you a private message about this, but for all the others in a similar situation...: I think there is a reason for every part of life. The "Having no clue what's next in your life" part can be an awesome time. It's your chance to find out, what you like to do. It's your chance to find out, what you like. As a child, you have restrictions. In a relationship you have restrictions. Did you ever go to a store and bought your favorite cake? Did you get the couch you like the most? Did you build the gaming PC you always wanted? Did you try diffent kinds of beer, wine or other drinks to find out, which one you like the most? Now is the perfect time to do all these things and it's good that you didn't take the next step in life until you tried everything you ever wanted to try.
  4. I recently came out of the deepest and darkest period of my life. I went through a triple whammy… lost my job, ended a 6-yr commitment (involved kids) and not by choice, then I lost my rock — my father🙏🏼☘️. The series of these events in 2019… turned me into a nervous wreck, depressed, sad, lost, confused, and scared to death. I sought help for the first time in my life. It helped… I had no choice but to take medicine. I dropped 30lbs in 3 weeks, I had zero appetite, no zest for life and had no direction to turn, so I stayed locked in my room for over 9 months. I came out periodically… just enough to show I was trying. I did a lot of soul searching during this time and a lot of praying. Get the help you need, don’t be ashamed or afraid to ask. And if you need to be alone be alone, but let someone know how you are feeling… there’s a compassionate world out there — we just need to connect and support one another❤️‍🩹‼️🌈☘️🙏🏼🥰 We all grieve differently and there’s no one fix… except for TIME — it’s the key 🔑 to ❤️‍🩹 healing.
  5. How wonderful it is to read your expression of self discovery, knowing that our time is limited in this physical form, and that by directing the focus of your attention inward towards the seat of your experience you may unfold the mysteries of what being alive truley is.....a gift....one that allows us to experience the causality of this universe...its an honor to connect with others who are actually open to having inclusive dialogue as we are all meshing in this web of relationship....as everything we think, feel, and do (or dont do) affects the web of existence. Right now we are in a crucial time, as you know, for every individual to become inclusive, balanced, and responsible for the life we have been given. We must remember our soverignty and take the necessary steps to become empowered as humans that know how to be, for all of life to flourish in all of its forms, as guardians for all of life to be able to move through the evolutionary process as it was intended... This is the real spiritual path, if there was a an actual path, it is to be a full fledged life that shines in all of its radiant solar powered glory just as the sun offers its rays freely for all in its reach so shall the spiritual being offer itself to all that are suffering...and right now the suffering on the planet is immense for most species...the question is how responsible do we want to be? My name is Joseph, thank you for reading this much, I would love to have a dialogue through email if you wish, for whoever reads this, @ [email protected] May your effulgent nature burst forth!
  6. You know, many of us have thought the same thing, is your mind just a product of certain emotions. But, there`s really nothing, just emotions to make us behave in a certain way. Well, if that`s so, we`re all just dead bodies, moving around with no purpose, just certain processes to make us re-produce. I have another take on it, we`re all the product of energy. I mean, the universe began with a sun, energy, then when the energy cooled down, it formed mass, and because the sun was so heavy, it collapsed under it`s own weight, and why we have gravity also, because of the momentum this caused. I think energy, which the first sun consisted of, is a little living; the reason why we`re living also. If you look at someone closely, in their eyes, you can see this light. It`s the reason we`re living, and not just bodies, walking around. We lived before DNA, we`re all sons, of this energy, sort of. LIke God`s sons. The soul isn`t from DNA, anyways, I`m just making a point. The soul get`s transfered, in another way, before birth. That`s why they spent billions on researching also, without finding genes linked to the personality.Anyways, I just wanted to share my take on it, it`s a popular thing now to think there`s nothing in the soul, they say "nothing", among western people. I always knew I felt real, to me it`s just nonsense to think there`s nothing. I think they fall under their own irrationally also, because they still care about others, wants to have sex, and so fourth; what`s the point then, if there`s nothing. Exactly, I wouldn`t like care about others, or talk to them, if there`s nothing. I`d just be under my own reflexes then, and not in control of myself, and spending life in society. My point is, I think energy is living a little. The whole universe, is living. The thing, we all consists of. What`s your take on it? We feel a "self" also, which also could just be a trick from nature, to make us feel real. But, I don`t think so. Science knows we have a soul. scientist says so, and they struggle with this "self" also, they can`t understand why we have it, because in their minds, we`re just brains ... Happy Holidays!

  7. Okay so this is my first topic i am sharing here. Earlier i was not a believer of astrology at all. However , with my parents getting too much into astrology and remedies , it made me curious as to how the horoscopes can help you transform your life. They all talk about whats wrong and right but what about transformation but without the rituals and what about self healing ? I found out and experimented on my own life that pluto placement in your horoscope can tell you a lot about how you can bring that major transformation in your life. For example , if pluto is placed in 4th house of your chart , it means the transformation comes through home environment or mother. The zodiac sign tells about transformation coming in that form . Mine has been in 12th house and whenever i have been in isolation (by choice) , it has always brought a major transformation in my life. Being in libra zodiac sign , idea of transformation was reflected from and into my relationships and how i deal with people . Where is your pluto placement ? you can check from your dob on any app like astrosage .
  8. How to enjoy worry Never allow the worry to enter your heart in difficult times. When it knocks the door, shout at it to go away. Don’t open the doors of the mind. If you allow it, it is a thief which steals away your energy. It is like the dog that steals away your food. It is like the cat that steals away your milk. Food is your energy and milk is your courage. When you loose courage and energy tension is created, which is the source of all chronic diseases. Doctors say that the tension raises the level of lactic acid in the blood, which opens all the doors for all the chronic diseases. The physical health is spoiled because the mind and body are related to each other. The illness in the body affects the mind. The tension in the mind affects the body. Such tension results in the loss of memory and loss of intelligence. In such state you are completely inefficient to plan for the solution. Your body is incapable of executing any plan. The worry cannot solve the problem and moreover it weakens you so that you will become permanently incapable to solve the problem. Therefore neither should you run away from the life nor should allow the worry to enter your mind. If your realization about the unreality of the cinema, which is this life, continues, instead of worry, you can enjoy the problem in your life, which is as good as a tragic scene in the cinema. You may argue that you are involved in the life and not standing outside the life to be a spectator. This argument is not correct. The answer for your argument is that you can enjoy the tragic scene even if you are involved in it just like an actor acting in a drama. If you are aware that the drama is unreal and if you are aware that you are only acting the role which is also unreal, you can still enjoy the drama as a spectator of the cinema even though you are involved in it. Whenever you face difficulties and if you have not realized the unreality of the world (forms and feelings), there are two ways to solve your problem. One way is in natural level and the other way is in super natural level. The nature is the separated power from the Lord, which follows the rules of the logic and is called as Prakruti. The nature is separated because it becomes the separate object to be observed by God who is the spectator. God created this universe to see it for His entertainment. Even if He enters the world as human incarnation the spectatorship and entertainment continues because there is no difference between cinema and drama as far as its unreality is considered. Therefore if your problem is at the level of the nature, try to solve it using your courage and energy without allowing the worry into your mind which steals both these. If your problem is beyond the level of the nature, then also you cannot solve it by allowing the worry. In such case the super power (Maya) has to enter into this world sent by God. The Maya is never separated from God unlike the Prakruti. Now, only the super power of the God can solve your problem and for this you must concentrate on God. For such concentration also, you need the energy and therefore you should not allow the worry to enter your mind even in this case. For doing concentration on God, you require the congenial atmosphere of real devotees around you. Therefore whenever the problem that requires the super power to interfere enters your life, you have to immediately prevent the entry of the worry into your mind and you have to enter into the association of real devotees so that you can concentrate on God for help. If you remain in the association of the ordinary human beings, they will magnify the impossibility of the solution and force the worry to enter your mind. If you leave the association of these dirty people, who do not want to solve your problem and if you enter into the association of real devotees, you can easily concentrate on God for help. God will give an immediate stay because the problem cannot be cancelled forever due to the cycle of deeds presided by justice. However, the temporary stay has the possibility of permanent solution also. After the stay, there may be a chance for you to become a liberated soul by entering into the service of the God in which case your file may be condemned permanently. If you are ungrateful to the help which involves the super power of God, your file will be opened after some time and the punishment can be given to you in some other form so that your impression about the cancelling of that problem by God is not disturbed. Therefore, at every step of your life, become grateful to God and transform yourself as a liberated soul through service to Him which alone can give the permanent solution. You may be compensated regarding your loss in course of time. Thus you may recover the loss but the time you spent in worry can never be compensated. Since your lifetime is a fixed quantum, the loss of time cannot be compensated. If you entertain yourself with enjoyment even during the time of loss, the time is not lost. When the loss is compensated you have gained both the time and the lost thing. www.universal-spirituality[.]org Universal Spirituality for World Peace
  9. I know a few people who were/are are pretty lonely. Every now and then I was lonely too and I wasn't in a relationship until I was 25 years old (I'm 27 now) even though I don't think I'm ugly or havinga weight problem. My problem was thinking my happiness would depend on other people and I thought I needed a girlfriend to become happy. Unfortunately, this mindset is very unattractive and unhealthy fora relationship. I hope, she can learn to be proud of herself for what she's already achieved in life and she can take care about herself by following her dreams. I know it sounds sad to go to the cinema or on vacation alone, but if that's what makes her happy, she should do it - no matter if she has friends or a relationship. And when people see how she is enjoyig life, they will be a lot more attracted to her. And when she doesn't need a partner to make her happy, she is a lot more independend and confident in a relationship. She can also try to visit her friends far away. It doesn't have to be every week, but a little social contact can change a lot. And by the way... You are an amazing dad.
  10. My most friendship is also one sided like any one sided love interest. Now a days in real life no friends for hangout and previous life friends are busy in their life. I think one sided friendships is also cool and I am successful with internet friends. You are also a example of my one sided friends to think sometimes as a special girl for me. You did not accept my friendship request but still I am commenting and engaging at your posts. When a friendship is one sided, two sided love can happen. Lol 😀
  11. Hello I am new to this forum today but I would like to comment on this topic. About half my life ago I was married to my first husband at the time. He was 18 years older than I but he made me laugh every day, until we actually married then came this shift that he "made" me cry every day. I had decided as a young girl that once I married I would stay that way and I didn't want to spend the rest of my life in sadness so I decided one day that I would stop crying and BE HAPPY! I had to consciously choose to be happy and the more I chose it the happier I became! Before marrying this man I was an upbeat positive person and have continued to be so sinse I made that decision to be happy so many years ago. So I'm here to tell everyone that yes you can choose your mood and you can choose to be happy or sad or anxious or any other mood this world has to offer. You just have to change your mind and make the decision. Doing so may take a little practice but once you master it you are all the better for it. The only thing in this world that you can truly control is yourself!
  12. Here's a poem that I really like maybe it touches you too - maybe not. Maybe for you it's the warm water of a shower, a fresh breeze, your feet touching the ground as you walk, or like in the poem by Thích Nhất Hạnh - a cup of tea. Tea meditation You must be completely awake in the present to enjoy the tea. Only in the awareness of the present, can your hands feel the pleasant warmth of the cup. Only in the present, can you savor the aroma, taste the sweetness, appreciate the delicacy. If you are ruminating about the past, or worrying about the future, you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea. You will look down at the cup, and the tea will be gone. Life is like that. If you are not fully present, you will look around and it will be gone. You will have missed the feel, the aroma, the delicacy and beauty of life. It will seem to be speeding past you. The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go. The future is not even here yet. Plan for it, but do not waste your time worrying about it. Worrying is worthless. When you stop ruminating about what has already happened, when you stop worrying about what might never happen, then you will be in the present moment. Then you will begin to experience joy in life.
  13. Impatience is a common problem in our time, and we can see it in everyone to a greater or lesser extent. When we set goals for ourselves, we always set high ambitions for ourselves. But in reality, we are always too fidgety to do them. It's the same when it comes to doing things, always in a hurry, trying to get everything we want without taking a single step down the road, and it often doesn't work out the way we want it to. This state of wanting something but not being able to do it always keeps you in a state of impatience, and if you don't control it, it will become like a "virus" that must be cured. I'd like to share with you 10 solutions to your impatience, and I hope they will help you! 1. Stick to one simple thing: Exercise, read books and watch movies is some advised choice for you! 2. Try to be alone. The French philosopher Pascal said, "Almost all our misery comes from the fact that we are not good at being alone in a room." 3. Force yourself to save. The higher your bank card balance, the stronger your bottom line will be in the face of life. 4. Do everything before you do it. When you think about anything, 99% of it is a problem. When you do anything, 99% of it will be solved. The status of most of us always tends to think too much and do too little. 5. When you doing anything, do not impatient for success. This era is impatient when we try to get everything. In fact, in the end, will not get anything. It's like the story of the plucked seedling. "There is a law for everything, and it is useless to do anything against the law." 6. Don't sleep too late, don't love too much, don't think too much. Rabindranath Tagore wrote in Burning Memories: There was a night when I burned all my memories, and my dreams have been transparent and glacialpure ever since. One morning I threw away all my yesterdays, and since then my feet have been lighter. When many things are simplified, they are not too complicated, and when they are not complicated the mind naturally calms down. 7. Organize and tidy your room regularly. The book "sweeping power" said: "your life is actually like your own room." A tidy and comfortable environment can encourage you to feel better, and when you are in a good mood, it is easy for people to be quiet. The people who keep happy are more likely to tend to have a tidier home. 8. Lower your expectations of the results and give your best to do what you can do. When you can only score 59, don't expect yourself to score 100 next time. If you aim for 60, then you can do it, and you will even exceed that score. Not all the work you put in will be rewarded accordingly. When you expect something and it doesn't work out every time, it's better to lower your expectations and get what you want instead. People like positive feedback. By lowering your expectations, your positive feedback will continue to increase, and you will actually achieve your initial expectations in a different way. 9. Accept you are an ordinary person. Have a clear perception of yourself and your family's situation. Know what things to do and what things not to do. Don't live a naive life out in the world, and try to make as much money as you can when choosing a job while still complying with the law. This is not to teach you how to be utilitarian, but life is indeed a penny-pinch. For you have neither the capital to dazzle nor the family that will allow you to dazzle. You are just an ordinary person who has to survive like most people, you are, I am, all beings are. Live first, solve your own survival problems first, then think about longer-term things. 10. Don't compare yourself blindly, be yourself. Please remember this sentence when you face something annoying you.
  14. I love the message in Sonja Lyubomirsky's research paper (and in her book The How of Happiness), which suggests that general life circumstances are only responsible for 10% of our base happiness level, whereas our actions (how we interact with the world) are responsible for 40%. (The other 50% is inherited in our genes.) While these figures may be a little optimistic, the message is clear - our happiness is not generally dictated by our external circumstances. I personally found that gratitude (learning to appreciate everything good in my life) has made me so much happier. By writing a daily gratitude journal for a week or two, where we write down at least three things we are grateful for each day, it helps us to focus on the good rather than the bad. And that is sooooo important. As the quote attributed to Einstein (which he probably never said) goes: “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.”
  15. there is always a good and happiest way in life. . . if focus on chunks and small issues we will never became a happy person. . . happiness no about the world the circumstances it is about your inner peace. . . and peace come from good heart and good deeds . . do this and feel the happiest moments of your life. . . . i face many emotional problems in life but i cope up with them with a smiley face and gain a way in every difficulty with a strong mind and heart . . . . strong mind means a mind which can search new ways of living and smiling in every situation. . it no the mean that you suppress your negative emotions. . .
  16. I had a mental breakdown 5-7 years ago. I shut myself off from my family and got involved in some ridiculous on line activity that haf me arrested and charged. I had an affair that went sour and now i am alone and abandoned. Hated and people think im a terrible person. I love my family so badly and miss then all so much. I see no one, talk to no one and have no one. Jobless, unloved and uncared about. Its safe for me to say i am more unhappy now than i have ever been in my 51 years of life and i just cant see a way to make my life better.
  17. I’m so sorry your feeling so much pain in life, and you have gone through so much. I’m glad you’ve choose to live for your 14 year old. But know how hard it is being a mum some days when you have blue thoughts. You’ve got this far don’t give up keep strong I know life is testing.
  18. Happiness is something we all want to achieve, it is in our DNA but how? For me its a daily progress in finding things I love doing, tuning my mind in the right vibes I pick up as my life goes by, engaging with people and embracing the change. Life is ever changing and it is not static, we are on the way of new discoveries every day, let's open our minds and hearts. Then we will find happiness.
  19. At the dawn of the third decade of the 21st century, the existence of humankind has become highly perilous. We are cutting down our forests, exhausting our fresh water aquifers, and losing our vital top soils. We are stripping the life from our oceans and replacing it with hundreds of millions of tons of plastic waste. We are flooding our environment with toxic industrial chemicals. Our pollution is driving climate change that causes heat waves, droughts, and wild fires that shred the fabric of life on the continents. And we are bringing new generations into the world, millions who require access to the resources of a dignified existence. The scope and breadth of the threats to life are increasing day after day. This is not a sustainable mode of development.Goodreads, alexis karpouzos official siteThe root cause of our ills stems from a mistaken way of thinking. What exactly does this mean? it means that we have been thinking of ourselves mainly as material beings, while denying our spiritual nature. Because we think that we exist as material beings and nothing more, we place first importance on protecting our bodies from harm and prolonging our material existence. Our spiritual nature, if considered at all, is treated as a secondary aspect of our physical being—something not to be taken seriously. To us, the only things that matter are the phenomena that appear in the material world—things that can be seen, or heard, or touched, or measured, but we know that our senses deceive us, the senses are a construction of the brain. What we consider a real world is an illusion. The domination of the positivist and materialist thought leads to irrationality and destruction.IMDB, alexis karpouzos official siteYet where has this approach led us? Has it brought us a sense of happiness and fulfillment? Rather than living each day in a spirit of joyful cooperation, with our hearts filled with bright hope and happy anticipation, we have isolated ourselves from others and viewed them as rivals or enemies. Our thoughts are flooded with suspicion, fear and greed, leading to an endless cycle of war, poverty, starvation, and environmental destruction. Unless we wake up soon and pay attention to our spiritual nature, there will be no future for humanity on Earth.Words are life. Words are light. Words are power. Words are energy. Words are truth. Words can enliven and words can also kill. Words can give hope, or plunge us into despair. People use words to build peace, and use words to make war. Words can create walls between cultures, religions, and nations. And words can also build bridges. The existence of an individual, a family, a community, a country, and our planet is being led to good or to evil through the power of the words we speak. The words we speak are responsible for everything that happens in this world. We, therefore, must be responsible for the words we speak. On behalf of future generations, I hope that each of us will do all we can to speak only bright, light-filled words, so that one day, our descendants will be born into a world filled with light. There is no time to lose. Starting at this very moment, I hope all of us will take a close look at the words we have been using and make constant efforts to fill them with brightness.Amazon, alexis karpouzos official site No one is going to change our lives for us. No one is going to change the world for us. It is time for each of us to recognize the prodigious, creative power that is unleashed by each word we speak, and to consciously speak only words filled with gratitude, encouragement, and good intention. From this moment forward, let us choose words that resonate with love and forgiveness for ourselves and others. We can certainly do it if we take just one step forward. One step at a time, one word at a time, we can uproot the germs of tragedy and of isolation in our consciousness and convert them into waves of happiness and conciliation. For the sake of ourselves, for the sake of Mother Earth, and for the sake of future generations, let us use words that contribute to the positive evolution of humankind on Earth. alexis karpouzos, visual art1.mp4 alexis karpouzos_ The world in the flames.mp4

  20. Believe in your potential and in yourself. Look towards working on your capabilities and have gratitude for things you have in life. Rejection or acceptance is a part of life, it should not affect you or your state of life.
  21. First of all, thanks for sharing your story and for the courage to open up. You have been through hard times and they left marks but they are part of you and they made you the man you are today. And from what I've read, you seem to be a great guy. So if anyone says something bad about your marks, just tell him/her what they mean: They mean, you truly loved a person so much that it left marks and that's beautiful. When I'm old, I want to be able to say that I gave everything for the people I love(d). I would like to have done mistakes, taken risks and lived for what I love. That's far better than being someone who doesn't care at all, who's life was meaningless. What to do in your case? You was right, telling your friend how you feel. You should tell his dad too. And if he keeps bullying you, that's probably to distract from his own dissappointing life. So try not to take him too seriously.

  24. I've been friends with someone for over 11 years. We were housemates at college and ended up living within 45 mins of each other for 9 years after graduation and met up every few months. When we were both married we would meet up as a couple a few times a year around 3 or 4. A few years ago they moved slightly further away and the distance is now probably double what it was. However, we continued to meet up a few times a year half way. When we had our first child the distance was still 45mins and they were great really supportive. They met with us several times when he was small till the age of about 18months even when they moved. Things got a bit odd about a year ago, despite finishing renovating their house we have never received a invite, where others have, which feels odd as we used to meet at each others houses alot. When we had a late baptism for our child (pandemic) when he was two, only my friend showed up with a excuse from his partner. Since then everytime we have mentioned meeting as a 4 (plus our toddler) we have been ghosted. No response. You wait few weeks or a month, send a message asking 'how there doing' or sharing news, and not mentioning dates to meet, and a reply comes through within the day, you can go a few weeks doing that with no issues and then as soon as you mention dates. Ghosted. This hurts slightly more as we recently had out second child, despite invites and indicating they'd like to come see him, they have made 0 effort to be there for us or meet the child outside of messages. I've met up with my friend a few times this year just us and it's been fine - a few weeks back I suggested (having not done so for around 10 weeks) all 4 of us meeting or, if they were two busy for that, just him and me and again ghosted. It's been 4 months since I've seen him now. Yesterday, same thing, message a 'how are you?' and by the evening a long reply apologizing for being bad at replying due to busyness / other stresses in life - no mention of meeting. Yet in the message they happily told me how they were meeting up with a mutual friend, on way back from somewhere, and had others friends round there house recently. They seem oblivious to what there doing, but, then, I think; how can you be? What has changed? Has your partner decided we're not worth the effort, and, if so, I'd wish you'd just say! I really don't know what to do. I don't want to lose my friend of 11 years, but also really don't like their habit of ghosting me for wanting to arrange meeting up! I feel pretty hurt they don't want to meet my newest child despite indicating they would. Part of me wants to just say "what gives" or "have we done something" but I honestly don't know where we'd end up if I did and that's scary. Currently, I've not replied as I don't know what to say which is unlike me, I'm the reply within a day kinda person.
  25. I just joined.this group. I am in my late 70's in good health and living a comfortable life. I've been married for 56 years. We moved here to central Iowa because my son and his family moved here and I wanted to be a hands on grandmother. I like to contribute back to my community so I look for opportunities to serve mostly through my church. Outside of church I am a hospice volunteer and work with the Cub Scout pack that my grandson is in. I have had experience with mental health issues personally and in my family. So I have studied the effects of mental health issues on families, communities, and institutions. After spending 2 years trying to convince my church Mission committee to take up the subject, they have allowed me to get involved. I have recently become involved in a task force on homelessness in our community of 9000 people. I am the only one on the task force who is not employed by an agency or institution as a professional. I recently looked at a website https://www.stampoutstigma.com/ and I discovered their calendar of national observances. March 20, 2020 is national happiness day. That got me thinking about happiness and led me to this site. So here I am.
