  1. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Just imagine having two friends. You like both of them, but you would only consider one of them for a romantic relationship. So it depends who's asking. I experienced 3 stories regarding this topic: 1. When i went to school, I got a group of friends, but I was closer to one of the female friends. Sometimes just the two of us met, we went on vacation together once and we told each other a lot of things. But to me we were just friends. One year our ususal New Year's Eve party was cancelled, so I went to another friend's party without her and she was very mad. So I think, she thought of us as a couple, she never told me and then she got hurt. 2. I was texting a woman, when I was looking for a girlfriend. She was nice, but her ex treated her so badly that she was affraid of a new relationship. So I was patient and spent a lot of time with her as a close friend. I helped her to overcome her fear and to build up self-esteem. Then she dated a new guy, they got into a relationship and I left because I loved her and I couldn't take it. And of course, he treated her badly and they broke up again. But I didn't spend any more time with her, because she hurt me so much by picking a random idiot over me. 3. When I was still looking for a girlfriend, I casually played an online game with some people. We became a crew of friends soon and played together for years. We even met each other in real life at crew weekends. One of them became my female best friend, because we played together every day and got to know us very well. Her boyfriend was part of the crew and he was a friend too, but over time he showed her less attention and treated her worse and worse. So they broke up one day. Since she was missing attention and she got it from me every day, we got even closer. We started joking about getting together when both of us wouldn't find a partner in a few years. We started flirting and one day we decided to meet and make out. It was very good, we both enjoyed it and we got together. I will marry her this summer. So I would say: Tell him/her how you feel. The longer you wait, the more it hurts. It can go good or bad, but you will have an answer and you can enjoy it or move on. Life is short. If flirting is funny and not weird, that's a good sign. And everyone loves to hear being accepted and loved with all the imperfections. When looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend, pick the one who truly cares about you and spends time with you.
  2. You know, many of us have thought the same thing, is your mind just a product of certain emotions. But, there`s really nothing, just emotions to make us behave in a certain way. Well, if that`s so, we`re all just dead bodies, moving around with no purpose, just certain processes to make us re-produce. I have another take on it, we`re all the product of energy. I mean, the universe began with a sun, energy, then when the energy cooled down, it formed mass, and because the sun was so heavy, it collapsed under it`s own weight, and why we have gravity also, because of the momentum this caused. I think energy, which the first sun consisted of, is a little living; the reason why we`re living also. If you look at someone closely, in their eyes, you can see this light. It`s the reason we`re living, and not just bodies, walking around. We lived before DNA, we`re all sons, of this energy, sort of. LIke God`s sons. The soul isn`t from DNA, anyways, I`m just making a point. The soul get`s transfered, in another way, before birth. That`s why they spent billions on researching also, without finding genes linked to the personality.Anyways, I just wanted to share my take on it, it`s a popular thing now to think there`s nothing in the soul, they say "nothing", among western people. I always knew I felt real, to me it`s just nonsense to think there`s nothing. I think they fall under their own irrationally also, because they still care about others, wants to have sex, and so fourth; what`s the point then, if there`s nothing. Exactly, I wouldn`t like care about others, or talk to them, if there`s nothing. I`d just be under my own reflexes then, and not in control of myself, and spending life in society. My point is, I think energy is living a little. The whole universe, is living. The thing, we all consists of. What`s your take on it? We feel a "self" also, which also could just be a trick from nature, to make us feel real. But, I don`t think so. Science knows we have a soul. scientist says so, and they struggle with this "self" also, they can`t understand why we have it, because in their minds, we`re just brains ... Happy Holidays!
  3. When all energy, which all mass today, consists of, popped up in the middle of an empty space, it collapsed under it`s own weight. Since it collapsed, we have gravity, because of the momentum the collapse creates. This gravity, acts like a pushing force. So when mass formed, which is energy cooled down, it formed planets. Over time, since the enviroment was stable, this pushing force, formed a will. Life starts with a will, and over time, the necessary traits was formed by adapting to the enviroment. Since life is self-sustained, it needs energy, and proteins, which it got from plants. I`m not saying energy, is living, but it acts, as this pushing force. So, everywhere in the universe, where the enviroment is stable, and you have plants, life will form. We`re all sons of energy, sort of. When energy just popped up in empty space, it formed mass, because it had orbits, a little like electrons, around a proton. When these orbits cooled down, it formed different mass, but it also formed gravity from the explosion. Since energy can`t be destroyed, when black holes gather mass, it collpases, into a new sun again. When it get`s heavy enough. And since all energy just popped out of nothing, it can happen again. So, life is basically a will, adapted to the surroundings. Why can`t we see aliens yet? Because, it`s been around 14 billion years, and still, no aliens have developed the necessary technology to find us. The reason, may be that we`re hindered by the speed of light, after all. As things travels faster and faster, it get`s heavier, so maybe there`s a limit. A final limit. Black mass, and black energy, haven`t been proven yet. Their best theory, is that galaxies stay together because of the gravity black matter gives off, but I have another take on it. It`s actually gravity from old energy. When suns burn, the energy, get`s old, a little like when your heater at home. It stays around planets and hold it together, beyond just the gravity the planets gives off. Can we live forever in this marverlous universe? No, contrary to the popular belief that the body ages, it`s actually the soul, that ages. You can see it on people, who stays normal all their lives. They only get grey hairs. It`s actually the soul that ages, so if you are under alot of stress, smoke, do alot of physical work, you age faster. The real reason we can`t live forever, is that the cells, which make up your soul, can`t be replaced. Otherwise, it wouldn`t be you anymore. So they age. The soul isn`t a spark, it`s cells in the brain-stem. The brain itself, is only for a little higher level of thinking, while the brain-stem holds your soul, your emotions, feelings, the will, the control over body, and so fourth. It`s not part of the brain, it`s only called the "brain"-stem. It`s under the brain itself, more like a muscle, that makes movement possible. The universe itself, is infinite in all directions, So it`ll never collapse as it expands. If dark matter, actually existed, it would have to be infinite also, which doesn`t sound logical; an infinite amount of something. So, what is energy really, which all matter consists of? Well, it`s not easy to say. It`s warm, it`s bright. It can be turned into mass, it can never be destroyed. Hope you like my writings, I`ve been thinking alot, over the years 😉
  4. Hello, everyone. I pray all is well with all of you. I am new to this forum and love the name HAPPINESS, which we need more. What a wonderful site name. I came here to meet new people and socialize because although I am a mature adult, I am shy, and in the past years, I have been consumed with making my film and have not socialized much. Also, I tend to put others before my needs and have been a bit overwhelmed with caring for my mom, collaborating to get my film in production, working on a new business with my son, and fitting all the self-development in my day, and so much more. It is time for me to take time and focus on what makes me happy. I am a filmmaker and will make my directorial debut in the fall/winter. I am so excited and looking forward to it. I love screenwriting, cooking, spending time with family, swimming, and traveling, which I haven't done in a long while. I love working out, volleyball, and dancing; even though my sisters think I have no rhythm lol, I still like to dance. I was supposed to start dance class, but something always comes up, and I pray to get there before the end of the year. Happy to be here with all of you!
  5. I was a journalist at the top of my career with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation when depression and PTSD took hold. I thought my life was over, but I found purpose and self-worth again by volunteering in a school in rural Nepal, 18 months after the earthquakes which claimed 9000 lives. I still have some bad days, but I now live a life of passion and purpose. I love supporting others and lifting people up. Every person has a story to tell and amazing potential.
  6. There is a force in the universe that is active in us, and is a great resource in our quest for a animated life and a conscious world. this force exists and is with us — indeed, it is in us — making use of it hinges on a crucial factor: the nature of your mindset. What’s Wrong with our Mindset? Mindset, This is an embracing concept — it does not stand for a rigorously scientific view, nor does it stand for a purely fictional one. But it does stand for a view of the world that people can recognize as their own. This is an embracing view, encompassing the whole gamut of values and feelings associated with one’s beliefs and convictions regarding the nature of the world. In the current scientific literature, there is a more rigorous but also more limited concept: this is “paradigm.” Originally developed by philosopher of science Thomas Kuhn to describe the fundamental changes in physics wrought by the shift from the Newtonian view of physical reality, to the Einsteinian relativistic view, in the course of the past decades the concept of paradigm has acquired a wider meaning. It extends from the concept of physical reality to a general concept of what we hold to be the nature of reality. We can speak of a materialistic paradigm, a vitalistic paradigm, a classical Newtonian paradigm, or a new quantum-science paradigm. Whether we give it thought or not, we all hold some variety of paradigm, even if it is not consciously recognized and articulated. This is also true of the concept of “mindset.” We all dispose of some variety of mindset, and that mindset is active and influential for us whether we recognize it or not. There is something fundamentally wrong with the mindset of most people in the modern world. That mindset is antiquated and misleading. People holding it are focused on acquiring material goods and fostering their own wealth, power and influence. They adopt a wasteful and often ostentatious lifestyle. They think that individuals have little or no influence on the way the world is going, and so there is no real need for individuals to feel responsible for the way the world is actually going. Life is a struggle for survival, where the fittest survives. Popular wisdom such as “make the most of your opportunities and never mind what comes after you — you only go around once” and “the world out there is a jungle, so take care of your own interests, because nobody else will care for it” are fairly typical examples. This is how the mind of the typical modern person is set to perceive the world. The values and behaviors inspired by the modern mindset have led to critical conditions in our social, economic, and ecological systems. They have fractured the integrity of the human community, dividing it into we and others, drawing the line in reference to common interests, or competing and perhaps opposing interests. This creates competition and conflict, and gives rise to violence. It leads to an unsustainable world. If we the modern mindset doesn’t change and evolve, we endanger not just our own well-being, but the survival of our species, but also we endanger the survival of all beings on planet earth. How to Change Your Mindset — Start with yourself. But how do you go about it? The first step is to ask yourself some fundamental questions. How do you relate to people, society, and nature around you? Are you part of them, or are you outside and perhaps above them? The honest answer you give, testifies to the nature of your mindset. Adopting an up-to-date mindset is not a quixotic endeavor: The shift from competition to reconciliation and partnership: a change from relationships, organizational models, and societal strategies based on competition to relationships and models based on principles of healing, reconciliation, forgiveness, and male–female partnership. The shift from greed and scarcity to sufficiency and caring: a change in values, perspectives, and approaches from the traditional self-centered and greedy mode toward a sense of the sufficient and the interpers onal concern of caring. The shift from outer to inner authority: a change from reliance on outer sources of “authority” to inner sources of “knowing.” The shift from separation to wholeness: a recognition of the wholeness and interconnectedness of all aspects of reality. The shift from mechanistic to living systems: a shift of attention from models of organizations based on mechanistic systems to perspectives and approaches rooted in the principles that inform the world of the living. The shift from organizational fragmentation to coherent integration: a shift from disintegrative, fragmented organizations with parts set against each other to goals and structures integrated, so they serve both those who participate in the organizations and those around them.

  8. Well, you can't force or plan to get a relationship. In the past I wished I could, but you just can't. But there are some things one can do to be more attractive. I don't know you at all, so I don't know if this helps you, but here are some things to make a person attractive in my opinion. 1. Take care of yourself. So take a shower on a regular basis, work out and wear some nice clothes. It makes you look healthy and it improves your self esteem. 2. Have a personality. If you don't know your favorite food, your favorite music, your favorite hobby, your favorite restaurant, take your time to find out what you like. Knowing what you want is more attractive than: "Uh, I don't know", in my opinion. When you found an activity/hobby you like, try to find a way to do it together with other people. That's a great way to get to know new people. 3. Be less picky. Some people seem to be perfect, but they all have their problems, weaknesses and insecurities. So give people a chance, go on dates and get to know them. And maybe take a look around you. Do you have a best friend, who is always there for you, who is single too? He/she might be the best partner for you.
  9. I know that feeling. Many people feel incomplete, not normal and unhappy without a partner. I did too. I tried to find a relationship desperately and I thought I was doomed to wait for a random coincidence and to be unhappy meanwhile. It's important to understand the fact that you have to make yourself happy. Don't let your happiness depend on random events. Take care of yourself, find a great hobby, make yourself comfortable, cook nice meals for yourself, dress like the person you would like to be seen as and make yourself happy and confident. I used to cook great meals, buy flowers and dress well for dates, but I didn't do it for myself, because I didn't condider it necessary for just myself. But appreciating yourself is important. You are the most important person in your life. So treat yourself like that. And this behavior of self esteem will attract other people. So the "relationship problem" might just solve itself.
  10. Char, I think your project of starting a mental health wellbeing garden is a wonderful idea. Gardening can have many benefits for people who are struggling with mental health issues, loneliness, or isolation. Here are some thoughts and scriptures that relate and offer support and encouragement to your project: Gardening can help people practice acceptance, gratitude, mindfulness, and hope. It can also reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and anger. It can improve mood, self-esteem, creativity, and cognitive function. It can foster a sense of connection to nature, to others, and to God. Gardening can be a way of expressing God’s love and care for His creation. It can also be a way of receiving God’s love and care for ourselves. God is the ultimate gardener, who planted the first garden in Eden and who makes everything grow according to His plan. Some scriptures that can inspire and motivate you and the people who will join your garden are: Psalm 1:3: “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Isaiah 58:11: “And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” John 15:1-5: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” 1 Corinthians 3:6-9: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.” Galatians 6:9: “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” I hope these thoughts and scriptures will help you get your project underway. I wish you all the best in your endeavor. May God bless you and your garden abundantly. 😊 Sincerely In Christ, Katherine Stephenson
  11. Hello, everyone! I live in Brazil, I like dancing and yoga. I have been in a self love journey, and trying to have more meaningful interactions, online and offline, as part of a self love journey. I hope to find good connections and be a good one also here.
  12. Hi Tara-- So how did it work out with "Mr. Perfectly Nice"? Are you still seeing him or did it end? Something sends my spider senses on alert when someone is overly nice...kind...attentive I get suspicious. Don't trust it. Been burnt too many times to just go along with anything. = Self Protection to avoid being mislead & ultimately hurt again So I want proof. A guarantee. So then... the tests to see if the kindness is genuine?...Can I trust it? Scary to trust...to let the guard down... to be vulnerable. When we've been abused early on in life as kids ... teens... it screws up our inner gps such that our inner guidance system (intuition & feelings) can be messed up & our self esteem & feelings of worthiness can be damaged...but it doesn't mean0 irreparable. Journalling out my feelings & connecting with divine guidance helps me. Divine guidance always speaks to me in kind ways...like a sweet loving parent might. Would love to hear an update!!
  13. When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
  14. Here are some steps you can take: Recognize your feelings: Acknowledge and accept that you are experiencing depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges. It's important to understand that these feelings are valid and that seeking help is a sign of strength. Reach out for support: Share your thoughts and feelings with someone you trust, such as a close friend, family member, or a mental health professional. Opening up to others can provide emotional support and help you feel less alone. Seek professional help: Consult with a mental health professional, such as a therapist or counselor. They can provide a safe space for you to explore your emotions, offer guidance, and develop coping strategies tailored to your specific needs. Develop self-care routines: Engage in activities that promote your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. This may include regular exercise, eating nutritious meals, getting enough sleep, practicing mindfulness or meditation, or engaging in hobbies that bring you joy. Establish a support network: Surround yourself with positive and understanding individuals who can provide support and encouragement. Consider joining support groups or online communities where you can connect with people who share similar experiences. Educate yourself: Learn more about your condition, including its causes, symptoms, and available treatment options. Understanding what you're going through can empower you to make informed decisions about your mental health and treatment. Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself and avoid self-judgment. Understand that healing takes time, and setbacks are a normal part of the process. Treat yourself with patience, understanding, and self-care. Develop coping mechanisms: Discover healthy ways to cope with stress and manage your emotions. This might include deep breathing exercises, journaling, practicing relaxation techniques, or engaging in creative outlets like art or music. Consider medication if needed: In some cases, medication may be prescribed by a psychiatrist to help manage symptoms. If you and your healthcare provider determine that medication is necessary, ensure that you follow their guidance and monitor any potential side effects. Stay connected: Maintain meaningful relationships with friends and loved ones. Social support plays a crucial role in mental health, so try to engage in activities that foster connection and build relationships. Remember, it's essential to consult with a qualified mental health professional to receive personalized advice and guidance for your specific situation. They can help you develop a treatment plan that aligns with your needs and goals.
  15. Exploring the Influence of Attitude on Emotions and Emotions Attitude, that intangible force within us, holds a remarkable power over our emotions and behaviors. By understanding the intricate relationship between attitude and these aspects of our lives, we can gain insights into the ways in which our mindset shapes our experiences https://raagedk.gumroad.com/l/Meditation
  16. I AM A KIND SOUL IN SEARCH OF LIKE MINDED PEOPLE WITH LOVING SPIRITS. I WOULD LIKE TO MEET PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD WHO HAVE NOTHING BUT GOOD INTENTIONS TOWARDS OTHERS AND HAVE A SELF GROWTH AND SELF IMPROVEMENT MINDSET. I AM HERE TO CONNECT WITH PEOPLE WHO CAN BRING LIGHT INSTEAD OF SHADOWS INTO MY LIFE. ANYONE WHO IS SEARCHING FOR THE SAME I AM OPEN TO CONVERSATION.
  17. I am a empath a healer in those lost in the dark due to heart break and evil of others. I am a listener and healer and have guided a choose few that I felt potential and purity that didn't belong in the darkness. I can't say I can help everyone but I know I have helped the few I choose to be there healing guide. As if you are aware it can be taxing to one's self being a healer so yes I may sound biased but I won't heal everyone only those that are pure and the darkness shouldn't have a hold on.
  18. Many people including myself have mistaken what love looks like and haven mistaken it for attachment. Elevate your self worth you deserve more than that and have a man meet you where your at and don't settle or lower your expectations for anything less than what you want 💚
  19. New to spiritual world, I believe I'm a lightworker maybe Star-Ledger. Also an empath with Gifts. Learning to tap into intuition more. New at all this but full of love and a natural healer. I'm told I'm powerful. Not sure in what way. However, hear to learn, meet more like minded people and communicate. Just wanted to make sure I was in the right place. I'm an empath and an Aries. I'm genuine and transforming into my authentic self as I learn while I go. Been on a healing journey for 1.5 yrs. I'm strong and a do not quit fighter in me, but I'm exhausted. Almost 5yrs in, with my new life with MS, trying to do all this alone and day by day is difficult. Differently abled and physically affected. I am all about a good challenge but come on! What can I over so big in this human imperfect version. I'm restricted, trapped and my creativity is majorly not my best skill but I guess its another thing to learn. I'm a work in progress and on many levels starting from scratch. Its not pretty lol. Not exactly sure how I got here but I love to communicate, this might be a new space for me. We shall see.
  20. Firstly sorry if this is the wrong category. The “general off topic” category disappeared. I signed up for this community to connect with likeminded people with mental health and self esteem issues, but I notice the community is inactive. Maybe once upon a time it had more activity, but now mostly nothing. Maybe people sign up mostly to take the online courses in the academy. That was one of the reasons I signed up too for the academy courses, but I was also hoping to be social on here. That seems to have died down as I said many times before. Anyone else notice this?
  21. Mental health coaching and life coaching are two distinct practices that can offer support and guidance in different areas of personal development and well-being. Here's an overview of each: Mental Health Coaching: Mental health coaching focuses specifically on addressing and improving mental health concerns and challenges. Mental health coaches work with individuals to identify and work through issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and overall emotional well-being. They often employ evidence-based techniques and strategies to help clients develop coping skills, manage their emotions, set realistic goals, and improve their overall mental well-being. Mental health coaching is not a substitute for therapy or counseling, but it can be a valuable complement to professional mental health support. Life Coaching: Life coaching is a broader practice that focuses on personal growth, goal-setting, and enhancing various aspects of one's life. Life coaches work with individuals to identify their values, strengths, and aspirations and help them create a plan to achieve their goals. They provide guidance, accountability, and motivation to help clients overcome obstacles, improve self-confidence, enhance decision-making skills, and create a more fulfilling life. Life coaches often work in areas such as career development, relationships, time management, personal finance, and overall life balance. It's important to note that mental health coaching and life coaching are not regulated professions, so practitioners can have varying backgrounds, training, and qualifications. When seeking a mental health coach or life coach, it's essential to research their credentials, experience, and approach to ensure they align with your needs and goals. Additionally, if you're experiencing significant mental health concerns, it's recommended to seek support from a licensed mental health professional, such as a therapist or counselor, who can provide a higher level of clinical care.
  22. Well I’m putting on a smile to add value to others everyday, and I do. But it’s wake up and oh no another day and no hope for a better future. I failed to achieve my dream in real life. So in sleep are the only dreams I still have, mostly reminiscing of things past and regrets. I’ll bet you’re young enough still to break through your current slump. I wish I could tell my younger self to follow their instincts more and also persevere with hard things to make small but daily progress.
  23. If you want to help someone with anxiety, here are some tips: Listen: Listen to the person without judgment and try to understand their perspective. Allow them to express their fears and concerns. Be supportive: Let the person know that you are there for them and that you care about their well-being. Encourage them to seek help and let them know that they are not alone. Offer reassurance: Let the person know that their anxiety is normal and that they are not "crazy" or "weak." Help them understand that anxiety is a common experience and that it can be managed with the right treatment. Encourage self-care: Encourage the person to take care of themselves by getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising, and practicing relaxation techniques. Help them seek professional help: If the person's anxiety is interfering with their daily life, encourage them to seek professional help from a therapist or mental health professional. Offer to help them find a therapist or accompany them to their appointments. Avoid enabling: While it's important to be supportive, avoid enabling the person's anxiety by doing things for them that they can do themselves. Encourage them to take responsibility for their own well-being and to seek help when needed. Be patient: Recovery from anxiety can take time, so be patient and supportive. Celebrate their progress, no matter how small, and encourage them to keep moving forward. Remember that every person's experience with anxiety is different, so it's important to be open, supportive, and understanding. By providing support and encouraging the person to seek help, you can help them manage their anxiety and improve their overall well-being.
  24. Hi there, I would say you should try meditating! I recently started and I’m amazed at how great it’s been. It could definitely help you get in touch with your soul’s purpose. Also, it may sound strange but go on YouTube and watch spiritual videos. I just found Christina Lopes and she has a great series of videos about getting in touch with your higher self. I have realized I am going through a spiritual awakening and it’s so cool! Best of luck. 🙂
  25. What merciless circumstances. It's hard to imagine how painful that must have been, to be denied even the opportunity to grieve your sudden loss. I've also experienced sudden and inexplicable loss, and one point that must be addressed is acknowledging the death. For most of the time that you've known him, you've been concerning yourself with your husband's life and happiness. Those intentions are like a river; when they have somewhere to go, they flow all the way to the ocean in an endless cycle. But if they keep flowing toward where there's nowhere for them to go, they'll back up and cause flooding, destruction, and stagnation. When your husband died, his ability to receive your intentions was lost. Your river is backing up all the way to its source, and you're drowning in it. Your husband is now beyond earthly concern. Nothing you do can harm or help him. You are not keeping him alive by sending your good intentions his way. There are no more "what ifs" or "if onlys". There is no betrayal in saying goodbye. The universe isn't going to be nice and give him back. If you're the kind of person whose affection overflows and doesn't easily turn off, then maybe you need to redirect it toward a living concern instead, like your dogs or volunteer work, or yourself. You're still alive, and it's unfair for your living body if you chain it to a dead one. You need self-affection as well.
