  1. Welcome to happiness ✨ That's a great new practice for the new the year, I definitely believe our thoughts and actions play a huge part in our happiness and wellbeing.
  2. Welcome to happiness Rosi! Well, a great first step is introducing yourself here ? The forum is also a great place to find interesting conversations on a bunch of different topics, and you can also start a new topic if you have something you want to share or a question to ask to the community. Then there's the magazine, which is frequently updated with interesting articles about wellbeing, happiness, mental health, and a lot of other stuff. You can also check out the Interests page that we're currently trying to fill with information. Anything there that you're interested in you can add to your profile, and you can also find other members who are interested in the same thing. ? If you have any questions about the site just send me a message and I'll be happy to help!
  3. I think routines are really good for us and our happiness, but sometimes I tend to forget about routines before going to bed. It's easy to get caught up in trying to finish stuff on your to-do-list or just get stuck in front of Netflix and just watching oooone more episode These days I hear of so many people having trouble sleeping and I know a lot of us end up in bed scrolling through Instagram until we fall asleep and drop the phone on our face lol. So perhaps a good night routine is important for our overall wellbeing and happiness? Do you have an established night routine? What do you do to wind down and get ready for bed?
  4. I think there is a strong correlation between what we eat and our mental health and wellbeing. Recently I read about someone who was starting to eat according to her blood type - apparently, there are special foods that are better for certain blood types and some that should be avoided. Has anyone looked into The Blood Type Diet or even tried it? I think it sounds really interesting and makes a lot of sense too!
  5. MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) is an 8-week foundation course that provides an introduction to the practice of mindfulness and is suitable for adults who are ready to invest in their health and wellbeing. There will be plenty of opportunity for each participant to get the guidance they need to establish their own personal mindfulness meditation practice. MBSR is a certificated course that gives you the grounding for any further specialist training in mindfulness and to move on to teacher training courses if you wanted to in the future. In an effort to make the course accessible to all I am offering a sliding scale of fees, from which you can choose as fits your means without requiring any proof, we call this 'trust basis' - you pay what you can honestly afford- £195/ 225/ 255 The course will be held at the University of Dundee Chaplaincy on Saturday mornings from 10am until 12.30pm on the following dates: January 11th, 18th, 25th, February 1st, 8th, Full practice day 10am-4pm on Saturday 15th February (held in countryside location very close to Dundee) Feb 22nd, March 7th, March 14th To receive the certificate you cannot miss more than one or two sessions and you must attend the silent day of practice. Please find the application form here: https://earthworks-ecopsychology.com/mindfulness Please email Stephanie in the with your application form to begin the booking process: [email protected] and type "MBSR" in the subject line. Before making a payment please arrange a short informal chat (in person or by phone/ zoom) with Stephanie to check the suitability of the course for you at the current time. If you experience a significant challenging life event near to the time of the course start it will be important to review suitability (fees would of course be refunded if that were the case). The 8 week course is an immersive experience, each class being 2.5 hours and home practice each week of around an hour, that will gradually extend through your normal daily activities so that over the duration of the course you will have integrated mindfulness into your daily life. In addition, a full day of silent (guided) practice is included. Mindfulness Training is about ‘waking up’ to be with reality as it is, with an open, non-judging mind. Mindfulness has roots in Buddhism, however this is a non-religious course that is about opening to our own experience. This is not about trying to attain any state of relaxation, nor is it all about meditation, it is about developing an awareness of how things really are, without grasping at how we wish they were different. Stephanie Gooding is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, HCPC registered, who has practiced mindfulness for around 20 years both for herself and professionally with clients of ages 12 to 75 and over. (This course is for adults age 18+). She has undertaken specialist training with the Mindfulness Network and Bangor University and has a background in study and practice of Mahayana Buddhism. 6. I love anything that is natural. Herbs are amazing and offer so much to help with your wellbeing. I would encourage you to do plenty of research and go with what feels right to you. Love and light to you. Have a blessed day?
  7. Yes I have heard about it and I've used this way of eating for the passed 10 years, I have found that it really works, especially on my mental wellbeing. If I eat a food that doesn't agree with me I really do feel the difference. Try it, as long as you use the correct blood type you will surely see a difference in your health.
  8. I have had trauma after trauma throughout my life and I find it very difficult to deal with the effect that it has had on my wellbeing and ability to manage well out in the world ... I live in the city and trust no one except my sons ... I will read your article thank you
  9. That is amazing and so inspiring, thank you for sharing this @JawsofLife you must feel very relieved after probably thinking for such a long time that something is wrong with you only to finally realize it was nothing personal! recently I read an article about children being addicted to sugar and how they were going from highs to hyperactive lows and unconsciously avoiding healthy food only to feed their addiction. I think this real and nutrition needs a prominent space in the whole wellbeing discussion!
  10. A new study has found that good mental health and being in a relationship make people happier than doubling their salaries. ? Depression and anxiety were the hardest issues people in the study lived with, but being in a relationship saw the biggest increase in the happiness of those living with these dis-eases. This tells me that the things that matter most for our happiness and overall wellbeing, as well as for our misery, are our social relationships and our mental health. What do you think?
