  1. Wow that's tough. Maybe that's a silly thought: isn't an online community a pretty good place to start? You can share and chat and make new friends and they can learn about your illness but also learn to see who you are.
  2. Hi, Wayne! Welcome and thank you for joining our little community! I must admit, I too am fully charged from last night's full moon. I went to the most amazing full moon yoga session where we dedicated our practice to Kali ma and asked her to kill off anything within us that no longer serves us. We chanted kali maa namo namah throughout the practice, and it was incredibly liberating.I went to bed feeling super energised and empowered, and woke up with that same charged energy. Isn't it wonderful? ?✨
  3. Loneliness is killing people. Recently a study in the UK found that even more young people suffer from being lonely than the older generations. "Young adults are more likely to feel lonely than older age groups [...]. The research found that almost 10% of people aged 16 to 24 were "always or often" lonely - the highest proportion of any age group. This was more than three times higher than people aged 65 and over." Source: BBC.com What can we do to create communities which are closer-knit, where people support each other and the deep human connection which is a major indicator for happiness is nourished? I personally moved to a small village almost 2 years ago as despite living in a beautiful city in a shared apartment with lovely people the anonymity of the city did drain me. Now at times, I think people are a bit too interested in how and when I do what, but that is more than compensated by the feeling of community. I recently read in an article the litmus test for a real relationship is "If I am sick, will you bring me soup?" In the city, I had many friends but no soup. I wasn't bringing soup, I didn't get soup. Not because people are less nice but there's a dynamic in the city where you rarely reach out making it know that soup would really help. It's different now and I appreciate it a lot.
  4. Ever since I was a child, I had a longing for Truth or what some would call the Divine. After many years of searching and meeting different teachers, I was fortunate to come into the company of Satguru Sirio and was initiated into the path of Surat Shabd Yoga. Now, I share the peace and blessings through devotional singing. I am happy to have a community like this to meet other like-minded seekers after Truth. Namaste❤️
  5. Hello! I just signed up as well. I can totally relate to your post. Mental health in the black community is non existent. I have thankfully found people and sources that made me realize that God is inside of us not outside. I believe that love and happiness is something you have to attain through living in the present moment with gratitude. Easier said than done of course, but life is a journey we have to handle with grace. I listen to gospel songs and replace them with self loving words as well! Thank you for sharing your post! I love your authenticity! Namaste

  10. Hi everyone, I’m Dawn, new here and happy to be here with you. This seems like my favorite kind of place to be! Looking forward to connecting, learning, and contributing to this great community.
  11. Lovely to have you, Jay! Welcome to the happiness community! I love music too, but I think I might have a slight glitter phobia actually! Haha Is there a word for that? ??
  12. Thank you for considering to upgrade! To be completely honest, the plus membership is really just in it's beginnings at the moment, there is not much we can offer in return at this point, so unless you want to support us I would say save your money for now As I mentioned in the other thread, I don't see happiness moving into a political direction at this point. Our focus is on building a conscious community that allows for open sharing on topics around happiness and broader well-being. The magazine is also just in it's beginnings, our main objective at the moment is to increase the amount of contributors so we can cover more relevant topics. A print version is not on our list.
  13. Thanks for your feedback. Yes there is so much to say around politics and the whole world is very busy doing that in one way or another ? We wish for happiness.com to be a place where everyone feels safe to share their journeys on physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. The structure of this forum is still a work in progress of course and will evolve with it's community. We did some research on what might be relevant in regards to happiness to provide a structure, but as you can imagine, the field is extremely vast and nearly everything in life can be connected to happiness in one way or the other
  14. Hi, Allow me to relate to this through what I have experienced rather than what I have understood or read. Consciousness is actually a state of mind which is extremely still and relaxed. It is so different to the thinking mind. Actually when you say consciousness you can't even call it as part of the mind. It is that free from thoughts, endless thoughts that come to our mind without any control. When you are conscious, and living in the consciousness you can think, you can plan, you can study, you can do all these things but the difference is you have a control of what you want to think and what not. The extreme beauty is this control you have is effortless. It is not something you have to think and do when you are properly tuned to this deep state. We must find a teacher who can guide us to this state as an experience, not as a mere understanding. Then one will know it by experience the calmness and consciousness I am talking about. One will know true happiness and may even know what is beyond the body mind. There are such teachers, extremely rare I would say but there is. And at "Nisala International Meditation Centre" I have found such a capable unique teacher. I am actually trying to introduce this teacher to the mass community around the world as I can. You can read more at http://nisala.org/ and also participate to experience this at our events. http://nisala.org/events/ Thank you.
  15. Hi I'm moving to margate and I'm hoping to make some new friends there, anyone on here nearby? My name is Bekka, I am a second gen cult survivor so have little in the way of community links and friendships but I understand the need of them so hopefully I can make some here. I love arts and crafts, singing, cooking and letter writing. Does anyone live in Thanet who would like to be friends?
