Aguaribay Barcelona is a cosy, pleasantly decorated vegetarian bar and restaurant located in the heart of the very hip neighbourhood of Poblenou, 5 minutes walk from the beach. It offers tasty, healthy and imaginative dishes, including vegan and gluten-free options, with gastronomic influences from different countries, as the three founders Valentina, Francesca and Manel combine Italian, Argentinian, and Catalan cooking traditions to prepare exceptional plant-based dishes.
Aguaribay also offers artisan beers, organic wines, freshly squeezed juices, alternative soft drinks, homemade vermouth and Italian coffee. Most food products used by Aguaribay are organic and locally sourced, combined with natural ingredients. The Aguaribay cooks consciously prepare homemade dishes on a small scale that also respects the environment. All the desserts are homemade and always includes a vegan option. Allergens are marked boldly on the menu, and you can also check the spice level of individual dishes.
Aguaribay is a stone's throw from the more popular Rambla Poblenou, making it a quiet oasis before or after a day at the beach. Lunch is served daily from Monday to Sunday at 13:00 with the option of a set lunch menu, or à la carte. The fare is seasonal and includes hot or cold soups, salads, quiche, curries, and rice and pasta dishes. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays Aguaribay opens its door for dinner from 20:30 to 23:00. It's advised to book a table in advance and bear in mind that if you arrive late, all the menu items might not be available, due to the small-scale cooking technique.
Aguaribay offers outdoor seating and wifi to all patrons, and a selection of magazines and newspapers, in a space that is also used for illustrations and photography exhibitions. For those with children, they have a play area and a few toys and books to keep the little ones entertained.
Poblenou is the closest metro station, but there are several bus stops around the area.
