Rigpa Barcelona is a non-profit association supported by volunteers who donate their time to help actualise the association's activities. Rigpa Barcelona's goal is to present Tibetan meditation and Buddhism authentically and genuinely for the life and needs of today's population.
Rigpa was founded in 1979 by Sogyal Rinpoche, a Buddhist teacher from Tibet, and the author of The Tibetan Book of Life and Death. Rigpa has the gentle patronage of the Dalai Lama, and each national association of Rigpa has charitable and non-profit status.
Rigpa Barcelona courses and programmes share simple meditation techniques and methods for compassion training, developed over centuries, that still helps to face the challenges of everyday life. For those wishing to deepen the study and practice of Buddhism, Rigpa Barcelona offers study programmes that included courses in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition of Tibet, a traditional study school, and short and long practice retreats.
One of Rigpa Barcelona's unique features is that it regularly receives teachers from all Tibetan Buddhist traditions who teach empowerment, and Buddhist teachers from other lineages and spiritual traditions.
At the Rigpa meditation and Buddhism centre in Barcelona, one can find the following courses:
Monday - Meditation 19:30 to 21:00
This is an open course instructed by Fernanda Bolivar and Jordi Fontrodona
Tuesday - Introduction to Buddhist wisdom 19:30 to 21:00
Instructor: Alfonso Schwartz
From September, Rigpa Barcelona offers a new course in the Essence of Meditation to familiarise oneself and progressively deepen the practice of meditation. The course aims to allow meditation to show us that it's possible to stop the speed and stress of daily life, and return to the present moment and regain contact with ourselves. The cost will be €30, and sessions take place every Monday from 19:30 to 21:00, from September 9. To book your place, please call or email Rigpa directly.
